User Agreement

This Terms of Service Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("you," "your," or "user") and sheetmusicgo ("we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the sheetmusicgo website, apps, APIs, and widgets, along with all related content, materials, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with this Agreement and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Access to the Service

1.1 Eligibility

You may use the Service only if you can form a binding contract with sheetmusicgo and comply with all applicable laws. Users under 13 years old are prohibited. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you must be of legal age to consent to data processing or have verified parental consent.

1.2 Service Description

The Service provides access to text, files, images, videos, music, and other content ("Content"), subject to the terms herein. You are responsible for internet access, device compatibility, and any associated costs.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration details.
  • Keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized use or security breaches.

3. User Restrictions

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringing content.
  • Violate laws, harass others, or disrupt the Service.
  • Attempt unauthorized access, data scraping, or introducing malware.

Violations may result in account termination and legal action.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Content Licensing

sheetmusicgo licenses Content from third-party providers. Some Content may be unavailable due to licensing restrictions.

4.2 Permitted Use

You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify Content except as permitted (e.g., personal, non-commercial use of tablature/lyrics).

4.3 Copyright Claims

5. User-Generated Content (UGC)

5.1 License Grant

You retain ownership of UGC (e.g., tabs, reviews, videos) but grant sheetmusicgo a global, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it.

5.2 Content Moderation

We may remove or edit UGC at our discretion.

5.3 Data Retention

After account deletion, we may retain UGC for backup or legal purposes.

6. Disclaimers & Liability

The Service is provided "AS IS." We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or security.

Limitation of Liability: sheetmusicgo is not liable for indirect damages (e.g., lost profits, data loss). Maximum liability: $100 USD.

EEA Consumers: Certain liability exclusions may not apply under local law.

7. Indemnification

You agree to compensate sheetmusicgo for losses arising from:

  • Your breach of this Agreement.
  • Misuse of the Service.
  • Violations of third-party rights.

8. Governing Law & Disputes

This Agreement is governed by California law (for non-EEA users).

Disputes must be resolved in San Francisco courts.

EEA Consumers: You may pursue claims in your local jurisdiction.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to external sites. We do not endorse or control these sites and are not responsible for their content.

10. Modifications

We may update this Agreement at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance. Check this page for changes.
